With ever-larger and more diverse families controlling ever-increasing wealth across a wide range of assets and asset-holding vehicles, the need to resolve disputes within those families of structures is a growing focus.
Our private wealth disputes team draws on the considerable and well-recognised capability of our private client and dispute resolution teams to deliver advice and expertise to trustees/executors (both individuals and trust companies), private banks, individuals and charities across a wide range of trust and will/estate disputes.
We have extensive experience of advising on claims in different jurisdictions both within the UK and offshore, including disputes concerning the validity of wills or other trust documents, disputes concerning the management and administration of trusts or estates, and disputes concerning Deputies or attorneys within the jurisdiction of the Court of Protection.
We have particular expertise in advising on trustees’ applications to Court for Beddoe or other relief, and regarding claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. Aligned to this practice area is also a wealth of experience in advising on professional negligence claims against former advisers.
