Stevens & Bolton LLP has been named ‘Litigation Team of the Year’ at the 2017 Solicitors Journal Awards. The firm was chosen ahead of four others, Mishcon de Reya, Wedlake Bell, Serjeants’ Inn and London Borough of Hackney, shortlisted from across the UK.
The decision was made by an influential and respected judging panel, who commented on how they were “impressed by the firm’s successes in technically difficult international cases and its strong client testimonials”. They also remarked: “Clearly punching above its weight in an area dominated by large City law firms, Stevens & Bolton has captured an impressive client roster thanks in part to a novel pricing structure, early adoption of litigation funding – which demonstrates vision and innovation – and a close relationship and collaboration with in-house legal teams.”
The Solicitors Journal Awards are designed to showcase and celebrate solicitors, law firms, barristers, and other legal professionals who are making significant contributions to the legal services sector. In the “Litigation Team of the Year” award category, judges were looking for technical brilliance in reported case work; an innovative approach with the use of alternative dispute resolution, arbitration, or other methods; and outstanding expertise and dedication to clients.
Richard King, managing partner at Stevens & Bolton, commented: “We are delighted to have won this award, which reflects the expertise, hard work and dedication of our commercial litigation team.”
