The Stevens & Bolton corporate and M&A team has acted for Specialist Risk Group on the acquisition of mid-market commercial broker, Consort Insurance.
Specialist Risk Group (SRG) is one of the fastest-growing groups of insurance intermediaries in the UK, providing UK and international clients with intelligent advice and competitive products to service specialist insurance needs. Consort Insurance is a specialist broker supporting a range of industries including construction, manufacturing, healthcare and entertainment. The business also offers exclusive specialist insurance for organisations with an exposure to fire risk through its protection and detection product.
SRG’s acquisition of Consort Insurance will continue to expand its Specialist Risk Insurance Solutions (SRIS) unit’s mid-market specialism, helping to further develop in the UK and internationally. This latest acquisition continues SRIS’s ambitious growth strategy, which has seen the business double in size in the last three years.
Oscar Horwich, corporate and M&A partner at Stevens & Bolton commented “We are delighted to have supported Specialist Risk Group on this transaction, adding to its fast-growing retail business. The SRG team is a pleasure to work with and we look forward to following the future success of the combined Consort business.”
Nikki Eastham, Head of M&A at Specialist Risk Group, commented “We really enjoyed working with the very high quality Stevens & Bolton team on this project, which is an exciting acquisition for our retail division, and we are excited to welcome Danny and the Consort team on board.”
