Stevens & Bolton has today announced the appointment of new partner Andrew Edwards, who joins the real estate practice from international law firm DWF, marking the firm’s sixth lateral partner hire in less than a year.
Andrew’s appointment follows a string of lateral hires from Shoosmiths, Irwin Mitchell, Charles Russell Speechlys, Rosenblatt, and Talbott Walker, bringing the total number of partners in the all-equity partnership to 48. He is also the second high-profile partner to join the firm’s real estate practice in the last year, following the appointment of property tax expert, Sarah Cardew, from Irwin Mitchell last October.
Andrew is a transactional real estate lawyer and acts for developers, institutions, private equity houses, fund managers, family offices, property companies, corporate occupiers and ultra-high net worth individuals. He joins at a time of considerable investment by the firm, following an extensive refurbishment of its Guildford headquarters, Wey House, alongside the appointment of a new Head of IT, Wayne Heyes from Penningtons Manches Cooper.
Commenting on the news, James Waddell, Managing Partner, said:
“We are delighted to be welcoming Andrew into our partnership. Our commercial real estate team was one of the best performing areas of our business last year and, with Andrew and Sarah joining the team’s existing bench of talented lawyers we see a tremendous opportunity to further develop our real estate offering for our clients in that important sector. Wayne will also be a great addition to our team, leading our continuing investment in the smart use of technology to enhance our client service offering and business efficiency.”
