The Stevens & Bolton corporate team has advised Davies Group Limited (Davies) on the acquisition of Shoreside Law Ltd (Shoreside), an international commercial and maritime litigation firm.
Shoreside specialises in shipping, commercial insurance and energy disputes for a range of insurers, ship and yacht owners, charterers, NVOCCs (non-vessel operating common carriers), ports, and other international law firms.
Shoreside’s specialised team of international lawyers will join Davies’ existing legal solutions business, Keoghs LLP (Keoghs). Top 40 law firm, Keoghs, provides claims and legal expertise to insurers, businesses and other suppliers to the insurance sector.
Existing insurance clients of Davies will now have access to specialists who have cross-border experience representing both domestic and international clients on all aspects of maritime and commercial litigation.
The acquisition of Shoreside continues Davies’ sustained growth trajectory to expand its legal and claims client offering.
Dan Saulter, Group CEO, Davies commented: “I’m really impressed with the experience of the Shoreside Law team and am looking forward to welcoming our new colleagues to our Complex & Specialty claims division in the UK. The firm has an excellent track record of delivering outstanding results on a range of large, complex, and sensitive issues and I have no doubt the individual talents of the whole team will be invaluable in providing our combined clients with the excellent level of service they expect.”
The Stevens & Bolton team was led by Joe Bedford with support from Natasha Dean and Ed Cummings (corporate) Kate Schmit (tax), Alice Donzelot (real estate), Kerry Garcia and Rebecca Berry (employment) and Quintin Farley (commercial).
