Penny advises on all matters that arise on relationship breakdown including children matters, divorce, financial remedy and cohabitee disputes.
Penny joined Stevens & Bolton in February 2024 from a large regional firm where she trained and qualified.
Penny advises both married and unmarried families on the breakdown of their relationships, as well as dealing with disputes in relation to children. Where appropriate, Penny assists clients within the court process, but also with a variety of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods such as private court processes, mediation and arbitration.
Recent highlights include:
- Acting in highly contested financial remedy proceedings involving disputes over overseas assets, business interests and inheritance
- Obtaining an order for a client who was seeking permission to relocate abroad with the children
- Successfully acting for an applicant in Family Law Act proceedings and obtaining non-molestation and occupation orders
- Acting in highly contested Children Act proceedings involving serious allegations of abuse
- Advising on financial matters and resolving cases by consent using private financial dispute resolution (FDR) hearings
- Successfully acting within the arbitration process opposing an application by one parent to relocate with the children
