Welcome to our latest edition of Business Bridge, written for busy entrepreneurs; providing commentary and interviews on current legal and commercial issues affecting growing businesses.
In our last edition, we looked at sustainability in business and the aspirational values of having a positive impact for all stakeholders. In this edition we have slightly shifted our focus to thinking about diversity and inclusion (D&I). This important agenda item offers an opportunity to reflect on how far businesses have already come, but how much further there is still to go.
We interview Zoe Allen (Compliance Officer at Kia Motors UK) about their approach to D&I, we also explore with Janine Esbrand (a former Stevens & Bolton lawyer, turned entrepreneur) what benefits a career coach can bring to businesses. Plus we take a look behind the scenes and lay bare our own D&I initiatives in the hope that these may highlight some of the ways to tackle the issues facing businesses.
Our team also provides insight on: the changing face of venture capital and private equity; future developments on the employment front; the benefits of apprenticeships; and recruiting personnel returning from career breaks.
Happy reading and please do let me or your usual contact at Stevens & Bolton know if you have any comments or suggestions for future editions.
