Welcome to the winter edition of our banking and finance bulletin.
We hope your 2021 has got off to a good start and your friends and family are keeping safe and well. Against a rather negative outlook, we’ll reserve comment for the time being on what the next year might involve for the banking and finance industry. One shouldn’t get too confident these days – we would have failed miserably had we shared our crystal ball predictions with you this time last year.
In the meantime you’ll have to put up with that which we do know about. Brexit – there you go. You can’t go wrong there (so Boris assured us). So sticking with this theme, in this bulletin we deal with some of the immediate developments following the end of the transition period for UK financial institutions.
We also cover some relevant borrower updates including the latest on the UK government’s coronavirus loan support schemes.
