Stevens & Bolton LLP is delighted to announce that it has been appointed to Santander’s Corporate Banking Legal Panel in the UK. This is the firm’s sixth bank panel appointment.
Santander entered the U.K. market when it bought Abbey in 2004. In 2008, it added banks Alliance & Leicester and Bradford & Bingley to its U.K. operations. It has 1300 branches in the UK. Recently, Banco Santander SA Chairman Emilio Botin declared that Santander aims to be the U.K.'s top bank in terms of profitability, efficiency and market share.
S&B’s Head of Banking and Finance, Jonathan Porteous, commented:
“We are very excited about being selected to join Santander’s panel. Santander have a clear mandate to grow business by lending to local businesses and have assembled a team of excellent and experienced bankers across the region. It’s a breath of fresh air for the business community in what has been a difficult banking market. We are looking forward to working with them in many transactions over the coming months and years. "
