Stevens & Bolton LLP has advised long-standing client Fuller, Smith and Turner PLC (“Fuller’s”) on its acquisition of The Bel and The Dragon country inns portfolio in Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire.
Fuller’s is an independent traditional family brewer founded in 1845 and is based at the historic Griffin Brewery in Chiswick, London, where brewing has taken place continuously since 1654. The Bel & The Dragon collection was previously managed by entrepreneurs Joel Cadbury and Ollie Vigors.
In addition to advising Fuller’s on its acquisition of The Dark Star Brewing Company earlier this year, Stevens & Bolton has also acted for them in connection with a number of other acquisitions over recent years, including the acquisition of Nectar Imports, the leading drinks wholesaler in the South, The Stable pizza and cider business and Cornish Orchards.
Jonathan Porteous, corporate partner at Stevens & Bolton commented: “It has been a pleasure to work with the Fuller’s team again on this latest acquisition which is a valuable acquisition to their premium pub portfolio. We look forward to supporting them on their continued growth in the future”.
The Stevens & Bolton team was led by Jonathan Porteous, supported by Emma Leahey (corporate), Shaun Hogan (employment), Jonathan Cope (real estate) and Sarah Balchin (corporate tax).
