Stevens & Bolton LLP has advised Berner SE, a global manufacturer of precision products and a provider of logistic and operating services, on the acquisition by its subsidiary, Caramba Holding GmbH, a system provider of chemical products and services, of the Barnes Distribution Europe ("BDE") business from Barnes Group, Inc for in excess of €25m.
BDE is a distributor of maintenance, repair, operating and production supplies and is operated under the brands Kent, Toolcom and BD France. BDE has approximately 550 employees and comprises operating companies in Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK as well as a holding in Switzerland.
Berner SE considers that the acquisition of BDE, which broadens the regional and industry coverage of the expanded group, brings the Combined Berner Group a significant step closer to its aim of being a leading provider in its industry.
