Although the law is drafted in gender-neutral terms, it is fair to say that is not always neutrally applied. Comments made by professional photographer Rupert Nightingale following his divorce from his “high-flying” accountant wife Kirsten Turner, have focussed attention on his allegations that the judge was biased against him because of his gender.
